07/03/2025
The results of the third call for proposals for participation in the ‘Energy Efficiency of Public Buildings in Ukraine’ programme have been announced. Bolhrad municipality is among the nine Ukrainian municipalities that will receive a loan from the European Investment Bank (EIB) for a thermal modernisation project in public buildings, as reported by Bessarabia.UA with reference to the Ministry for Communities and Territories Development of Ukraine.
The programme aims to finance thermal modernisation projects of public buildings, namely: healthcare facilities, schools, nurseries, sports and cultural centres, administrative buildings, etc. The programme also envisages financing the repair of war-damaged facilities, the construction of shelters, and the adaptation of buildings to conditions that better meet the needs of internally displaced persons (IDPs) and the municipalities that host them.
Following the results of the third call for proposals, the programme management and support group of the ‘Energy Efficiency of Public Buildings in Ukraine’ programme determined that the following municipalities would receive loans for the implementation of their projects:
- Boyarka (Kyiv Oblast);
- Yavoriv, Rava-Ruska, and Davydivka (Lviv Oblast);
- Bolhrad (Odesa Oblast);
- Dubovets (Ivano-Frankivsk Oblast);
- Pryiutivka (Kirovohrad Oblast);
- Dubivske (Zakarpattia Oblast);
- Bilohorodka (Kyiv Oblast).
The total cost of the approved projects is nearly UAH 440 million, or approximately €10 million.
Currently, the winners still face an important stage – the development of design and cost estimate documentation.
The ‘Energy Efficiency of Public Buildings in Ukraine’ programme is implemented by the Ministry for Communities and Territories Development of Ukraine, financed by the European Investment Bank with EU support through NIP and E5P, and with expert and technical support from the Covenant of Mayors-East, UNDP, and NTU.
