26/09/2022
A total of 400,000 doses of the Comirnaty mRNA vaccine against COVID-19, developed by Pfizer/BioNTech, were delivered to Ukraine this month under the framework of the EU-supported COVAX Facility.
The vaccines will be distributed throughout 23 regions in the country by the Ministry of Health of Ukraine.
“With the approach of the autumn/winter period, it is especially important to protect yourself from COVID-19, because as the experience of past years shows, the incidence increases sharply at this time,” said Ihor Kuzin, Deputy Minister of Health and Chief State Sanitary Doctor of Ukraine.
Ukraine joined COVAX with the support of Team Europe, the WHO, UNICEF and other international partners. The vaccines are being delivered by the UNICEF supply department.
