Project Description
Media Center Ukraine (MCU) is the Country’s Leading Communications Hub for foreign and ukrainian journalists, facilitating effective communication between government, business, and the public sector, and developing creative strategies to help Ukraine prevail in the war and rebuild in its aftermath. MCU provides guidance on accreditation, professional regulations, and navigating interactions with Ukrainian authorities; facilitates closed-door meetings where journalists can engage with key speakers on critical topics in a secure setting, fostering deeper understanding, candid discussions, and access to insider insights; assists journalists in identifying compelling stories, sources, and contacts; maintains a free-to-use photo bank; provides mentorship, training, and consultations for civil society organizations, helping them organize events and secure media coverage; organizes briefings featuring government officials, event participants, NGO representatives, and experts on key issues.
Specific Objective
Gain the sustainable support of Ukraine’s victory and recovery process, as well as euroatlantic integration of Ukraine among foreign partner states and internal Ukrainian audiences/stakeholders:
1) To focus efforts and attention of key stakeholders - CSO, media, local communities, businesses and the government - at principal recovery process topics and necessity to make it inclusive and transparent
2) Support of foreign media operations in Ukraine and Ukraine topics coverage abroad
3) Countering malign influence on ukrainian and foreign publics
4) Development of CSOs capacity and visibility and media sectors capacity building
Expected Results
The project is expected to strengthen Media Center Ukraine’s role as a key national and international communication hub that amplifies truthful information about Ukraine, fosters dialogue between government, civil society, and media, and supports resilience and recovery narratives. It will enhance the capacity and inclusiveness of Ukrainian media and CSOs, ensuring their active participation in democratic recovery processes. Through sustained engagement with international journalists and experts, MCU will contribute to countering disinformation, promoting Ukraine’s Euro-Atlantic integration, and consolidating the country’s communication infrastructure for the long term:
Democratic approach, inclusivity and transparency of recovery processes are developed through promoting active participation of all stakeholders: local communities, civil society organizations, media and business, as well as the Government of Ukraine – organize at least 48 disussions on recovery and securing democracy topics.
Democracy processes in Ukraine during war time are kept and facilitated through development of CSO and media sectors capacity building – ar least 60 CSOs participated in MCU activities
Ukrainian voice and objective information on war, economic challenges and strategy of Ukraine, as well as recovery process, is visible among foreign audiences and stakeholders – distributed 1800+ news, created based on MCU events.
