Project Description
The “Culture vs War. Empowered” project is the next stage of the “Culture vs War” initiative and aims to strengthen international support for Ukraine through culture, documentary storytelling and strategic communication. Its purpose is to present Ukraine not only as a country resisting war, but also as a strong, creative and reliable partner that shares European democratic values.
The project includes the production and international distribution of documentary films, a new photo exhibition, an art book, multilingual adaptations and public events in Ukraine and abroad. Through the stories of prominent Ukrainian artists, human rights defenders, musicians, veterans and innovators, the project highlights human dignity, freedom, resilience, creative potential and Ukraine’s contribution to contemporary Europe.
The project aims to present to international audiences, through multimedia products and international distribution, the stories of Ukrainian human rights defenders, artists, veterans and innovators who demonstrate Ukraine’s potential as a reliable European partner.

Specific Objective
The “Culture vs War. Empowered” project (2025–2027) is the next stage of the “Culture vs War” initiative and aims to promote new narratives about Ukraine through cultural and multimedia formats. The project seeks to present Ukraine to international audiences not only as a country resisting aggression, but also as a society with strong cultural, innovative and human potential that shares European democratic values.
Objectives:
1. To produce three feature-length documentary films presenting contemporary Ukrainian culture, innovation and society.
2. To ensure international distribution of five documentary films of the project in Ukraine and worldwide.
3. To create a new photography exhibition featuring the protagonists of the project and present it in Ukraine and abroad.
4. To produce and publish an illustrated art book containing photographs and stories of the project’s protagonists.
5. To organise international public events, screenings, exhibitions and discussions to disseminate the project’s products and engage international audiences.
