A new €20 million EU-backed loan for Ukrainian businesses
22/04/2026
On 21 April, the European Fund for Southeast Europe (EFSE), through its Ukraine Sub-Fund, signed a €20 million loan agreement with JSC Ukreximbank.
The deal is made possible by the EU’s €55 million contribution to EFSE under the Ukraine Facility. It allows EFSE to provide Ukreximbank with a five-year credit line to support Ukrainian micro, small, and medium-sized enterprises (MSMEs) during the war.
The funding will help businesses:
- create and sustain 7,000+ jobs;
- invest and keep operating;
- access 400+ sub-loans across Ukraine.
By expanding MSME access to finance, the EU helps build Ukraine’s economic resilience.
