Carpathian mountain guides help refugees with EU funds

The EU-supported Ukrainian Mountain Guides Association ‘ROVIN’ has adapted the activities of the ‘SWIFT: Carpathian Search and Rescue Network’ project to support those affected by the war.
The organisation used EU funds to deliver several tonnes of humanitarian goods (including medicines, hygiene products, food, clothing) and established a channel for the supply of medicines from Poland, purchased and collected by partner organisations.
More than 50 IDPs were provided shelter on the basis of a renovated and equipped training centre for mountain guides and rescuers. In addition, the association assembles first aid kits for defenders and volunteers, conducts training on first aid, and helps produce manuals and instructions for volunteers.
