Program of restoration and promotion of ancient doors and gates ''Thousands of Doors of Odessa''
Project Description
Overall objective of the project is to create sustainable, successful and developed model for the restoration and promotion of Odessa ancient doors and gates of historical or other significant importance, with the participation of residents, business representatives, city authorities and other stakeholders and in cooperation with the municipality.
Specific Objective
Specific objectives of the project are to:
- draw the community's attention and raise awareness about the problem of destruction of historic doors and gates,
- convey the importance of preserving historic doors and gates to the community,
- demonstrate the reality of the process of preserving the historic doors and gates to the residents of local houses,
- launch a continuous process of restoration of doors and gates with the help of various methods of financing (patrons, grants, sponsors, fundraising),
- increase the number of restored historic doors in Odessa and to reduce restoration costs

Expected Results
- 100 restored historic doors of Odessa
- 1 officially opened restoration workshop space for professional restorers, craftsmen and young professionals
- Series of practical courses (workshops) with experts on restoration of ancient doors and gates
- Series of online publications on urban heritage conservation
- 15 produced video reels (restoration of doors, story of the door is told by the residents themselves; restoration process itself, upgraded restored doors)
- Program of public (open) lectures on history of architecture, restoration techniques (methods) and preservation of cultural heritage of the city
- 1 interactive webpage with new excursion routes for citizens and tourists
- 1 officially opened restoration workshop space for professional restorers, craftsmen and young professionals
- Series of practical courses (workshops) with experts on restoration of ancient doors and gates
- Series of online publications on urban heritage conservation
