EU Support to Strengthening Integrated Border Management (IBM) in Ukraine (EU for Solidarity Lanes and IBM)
Project Description
Contribute to Ukraine’s trade facilitation and economic recovery through improving flows of essential goods through Border Crossing Points (BCPs) and support the enhanced resilience and business continuity of Ukrainian border and migration authorities and their preparation for EU integration in the context of the ongoing Russian war against Ukraine and Ukraine’s candidate status for EU membership.
Specific Objective
Specific objective 1: Border infrastructure is improved in order to optimize flows in exporting essential commodities including agricultural goods out of Ukraine,
Specific objective 2: The resilience and business continuity of Ukrainian IBM actors are enhanced in the context of the ongoing Russian military aggression against Ukraine through continued technical and policy development support to relevant authorities.

Expected Results
Output 1.1: Urgent engineering works at BCP(s) are completed, enabling new lanes into operation and improving trade flows in close coordination with Ukrainian customs and border authorities, counterparts in neighbouring countries, EU institutions and other actors.
Output 1.2: An in-depth feasibility assessment is conducted on the follow-up engineering works and trade facilitation measures at priority BCPs.
Output 2.1: Priority information systems and data/cyber security infrastructure of Ukrainian migration and border authorities are enhanced to better address new challenges in the context of the Russian military aggression against Ukraine.
Output 2.2: Expert support in migration policy development is available to the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the State Migration Service and relevant state authorities.
