Сhildren’s space: play, explore, achieve
08/06/2026
Childhood doesn’t stop for war!
Yesterday, hundreds of children and families filled the lawn of the National Museum of the History of Ukraine for Children’s Space: Europe for Every Child — organised by the EU together with UNICEF Ukraine.
EU Ambassador Katarína Mathernová and UNICEF Representative Anne-Claire Dufay opened the day side by side. “Children don’t start wars,” the Ambassador told the crowd, “but they suffer from them the most. That is why the EU will continue to support Ukrainian children and families as they build their future.”
Then the day belonged to children:
cooking up European dishes with chef Volodymyr Yaroslavskyi
learning the Czech polka, Greek sirtaki and Austrian Siebenschritt with dancer Vitaliy Zagoruiko
testing their EU knowledge in a quiz with the Young European Ambassadors
exploring emotions through puppet theatre, storytelling and games
Even the rain didn’t stop us — we closed the day with a lively performance by Sofia Nersesian and TVORCHI.
One belief held it all together: every child deserves the chance to play, learn and grow.
Thank you to our partners, volunteers and every young guest who made the day.
