EU-Supported Housing for IDPs Under Construction in Dubno: Delegation Visits Site

21/08/2026

The city of Dubno hosted an official visit by a delegation of representatives from the European Union and the Nordic Environment Finance Corporation (NEFCO).

Mayor Vasyl Antoniuk held a working meeting with everyone involved in implementing the project.

As a reminder, a new apartment building will be completed in our city this year. It is being built with grant funding under the Housing for Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) and the Restoration of Liberated Cities in Ukraine project. The project is financed by the European Union and Dubno City Council and implemented under the management of the Nordic Environment Finance Corporation, NEFCO,” the city council said.

At the construction site, the delegation had an opportunity to see firsthand how the new building differs from conventional housing developments. The project includes measures to reduce heat loss and create comfortable living conditions: the external walls will be insulated with mineral wool panels, the foundations with polystyrene insulation boards, and solar panels will be installed on the roof.

The building will be commissioned with interior finishing completed, plumbing fixtures installed, apartments minimally furnished, and household appliances provided. Landscaping work on the surrounding area is also underway.

It is very important for us that active cooperation with the European Union is taking place at every stage of the project to restore and develop Ukraine’s housing infrastructure,” Dubno City Council commented on the construction progress.
