Emergency Support to civil society and media in response to the Ukraine war (ESU)
Project Description
ESU is a 30 month project funded by the European Union which aims to strengthen the resilience and effectiveness of war affected civil society organisations (CSO) and civil society actors in Ukraine, including independent media and human rights defenders.
The overall objective of the project is to strengthen the resilience and effectiveness of war affected civil society organisations and actors.

Specific Objective
- To support CSOs and civil society actors affected by the war in Ukraine to continue their work, either inside their countries or by escaping war zones or countries that are affected by the conflict.
- To strengthen resilience in Ukraine and the EaP countries receiving refugees against disinformation and pro-Russian propaganda, whilst promoting tolerance and understanding between ordinary citizens and refugees and between groups of refugees.

Expected Results
- 80% of supported CSOs and civil society actors affected by the war in Ukraine are sustained to continue their work.
- 80% of supported CSOs and civil society actors declaring to have improved their operational and/or organisational capacity, their knowledge and skills and to have strengthened their means of action.
- 70% participants targeted by outreach and advocacy events acknowledge having engaged further on the topic on their own initiative as a result of their exposure to the events.
