The EU Ambassador to Ukraine, Katarina Maternová, discussed with teachers from Kyiv how to bring the EU closer to young people in Ukraine
30/09/2026
On 30 September, a discussion ‘Women Educating the Future’ took place in Kyiv, during which the EU Ambassador to Ukraine, Katarina Maternová, spoke with over 20 lecturers, teachers and representatives of civil society organisations about how Ukrainian youth perceive the European Union.
The participants discussed, on the one hand, the interest of young Ukrainians in this matter and, on the other, the need to raise their awareness of the nature of the EU and its support for Ukraine. This is particularly relevant in light of the anti-European propaganda actively fuelled by Russia.
Katarina Maternová highlighted the importance of the educational process in fostering a better understanding of the European Union and building resilience to disinformation. The EU Delegation to Ukraine will continue its efforts in this area in cooperation with educators and civil society.
