The European Centre for Press and Media Freedom, mainly funded by the European Commission, and the Ukrainian organisation ‘Public Interest Journalism Lab’ have launched a scholarship programme for Ukrainian independent media on the verge of closure or working in the regions most affected by the war.
The organisers offer a monthly stipend of €900 to support the selected media during a period from four to eight months.
The call is open to Ukrainian independent media that are in a crisis, work or have relocated from Donetsk, Luhansk, Dnipropetrovsk, Sumy, Chernihiv, Kharkiv, Zaporizhzhiia, Kherson, Mykolaiv, or Odesa Oblast, have at least two years of experience in the Ukrainian media market and remain in Ukraine and create important content.
The deadline for applications is 8 September.
The competition is managed by the Public Interest Journalism Lab and the European Centre for Press and Media Freedom with the financial support of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Germany.
