European Integration without Disinformation Hackathon
Are you interested in media literacy and countering disinformation? Do you stand for Ukraine’s European future? Do you debunk false news in your publications and get never tired of explaining that unverified news about the deportation of Ukrainians from the EU is a lie?
Then, you are welcome to attend the European Integration without Disinformation Hackathon, an outreach and networking event organised by the Delegation of the European Union to Ukraine.

When: Wednesday, 19 June 2024, 9:30 — 18:15.
Where: Kyiv. The organisers will cover travel and accommodation costs for participants from other cities.
For whom: journalists, fact-checkers, investigators, civic activists, academics, students, interested in media literacy and countering disinformation are invited to participate.
To apply, please fill in the registration form by 16 June (for participants from Kyiv and Kyiv Oblast) and 13 June (for participants from other regions).
Selected candidates will receive confirmation and the event’s full agenda by 17 June 2024. Hackathon participants will:
- learn more about effective strategies and approaches to audience engagement in the context of countering disinformation
- develop new creative ideas for combating false news and information manipulations about Ukraine’s European integration and support from the EU member states
- receive mentoring support from leading experts in fact-checking and countering disinformation;
- meet like-minded people, exchange valuable experiences, and develop ideas for possible joint projects.
Participants will also have a chance to present their ideas and receive useful presents from the Delegation of the European Union to Ukraine.
