Two Water Treatment Stations Installed in Odesa Oblast for Medical Facilities with EU and WHO Support
Modern water treatment stations have been installed in Berezivka and Sarata in Odesa Oblast, which will provide medical facilities with a safe supply of purified water and support the uninterrupted delivery of healthcare to the population.
This was reported by the Health Department of the Odesa Oblast Military Administration.
The project was implemented by the World Health Organisation with financial support from the European Union as part of measures to strengthen the resilience of the healthcare system in regions affected by the war.
Each station is capable of purifying up to 5,000 litres of water per hour and additionally serves as a reserve storage facility for purified water.
Advanced reverse osmosis technology ensures a high level of purification, which is particularly important for the operation of surgical units, maternity wards, intensive care units, and other hospital departments.
For Odesa Oblast, which regularly suffers from attacks on critical infrastructure, such solutions are of strategic importance for ensuring the stable operation of medical facilities and the safety of patients.
“We are grateful to the World Health Organisation and the European Union for this vital support. The installation of water treatment stations in Berezivka and Sarata is a tangible contribution to strengthening the capacity of the healthcare system and protecting the health of Odesa Oblast residents in wartime conditions,” the Health Department of the Odesa Oblast State Administration stated.
The implementation of the project is part of broader efforts by international partners aimed at ensuring the population’s continued access to quality healthcare services and strengthening the resilience of the region’s healthcare facilities.
