91% of EU citizens support providing humanitarian aid to Ukraine, and 65% of respondents approve of financing military aid.
Yevropeiska Pravda reports that these are the results of a Eurobarometer poll.
“EU citizens continue to demonstrate their unwavering solidarity with Ukraine,” the authors of the survey note.
91% of respondents agree with providing humanitarian support, and 88% support admitting people fleeing the war to the EU.
Providing financial support to Ukraine is approved by 77%, and 74% of respondents support imposing economic sanctions against the Russian government, companies, and individuals.
Europeans also continue to overwhelmingly support a ban on broadcasting by Russian state media (67%) and EU funding for purchasing and supplying military equipment to Ukraine (65%), and 13% of respondents are categorically against military support for Ukraine.
The majority of European citizens (56%) are satisfied with the European Union’s response to Russia’s invasion of Ukraine.
The survey was conducted in January-February this year.
As reported, every second German citizen believes that the German government could have provided more support to Ukraine to counteract full-scale Russian aggression.
