Project #SaveUkrainianHeritage

Architecture hallmarks – priceless and fragile, always needed careful treatment, and especially now, during Russia’s aggressive full-scale war.And so today, thanks to modern technologies and with the support from the EU, experts from Lviv weave a digital lace of historic memory capturing the beauty and grandeur of artistic masterpieces in 3D models.

Russian war will not stop Ukrainian culture

#TOGETHERWEPRESERVE

About the project

Whereas until 2022 the enemies of architecture hallmarks were natural factors and human negligence, now Russian missiles have been added to those disruptors. At any moment, in any corner of Ukraine, deadly weapons can turn pearl of historical heritage into a pile of debris and ashes. Only modern technology can preserve their unique beauty and grandeur for future generations.

3D digital models belong to the latest achievements in preserving priceless history and culture artefacts. Indeed, those three-dimensional digital models, thanks to the accuracy of shape, proportion and real size embedded in the solution, can serve as a basis for their restoration and reproduction in their original form. “Our task is to capture as much of the architectural and artistic heritage of Ukraine as possible and to protect historical memory from the destructive effects of time,” says the team of the Skeiron company, which is currently creating 3D models of 40 hallmarks of Lviv and the surrounding areas. “Even before the war began, we had been scanning culture items, and now, at the moment of a full-scale invasion, we realize the even greater urgency of this”.
