Thanks to the successful collaborative application for additional NAWA funding, the Lviv University has been accepted into the EU4DUAL (European University Alliance on Dual Education), which operates within the Erasmus+ program under the European Universities (Development of new deep institutional transnational cooperation) direction. The universities of Poland, Austria, Spain, Malta, Germany, Finland, France and Croatia are all represented in this project.
The extensive project aims to construct the largest integrated, transnational and interdisciplinary institutional platform for universities and companies to collaborate via dual education in Europe. The Lviv University has been tasked with devising a complex organizational model for communication and intercultural interaction within the framework of dual programs at both pan-European level and the interregional level, taking into account social contexts, ethical principles, or ideological prerequisites pertinent to such relations.
The virtual signing of an accord of collaboration between the Koszalin University of Technology (Poland) and the Lviv National University of Ivan Franko took place on December 28, 2022. The signing ceremony was attended by the President of the Koszalin University Danuta Zawadzka, and Professor and Vice-rector for international cooperation and scientific and pedagogical work Serhii Riznyk on behalf of Volodymyr Melnyk.
In his welcoming speech, Serhii Riznyk emphasized the importance of signing the agreement: “I believe that together with the Koszalin University of Technology we will successfully implement our ambitious plans within the framework of the EU4DUAL project and within the framework of our bilateral agreement. I am convinced that we will ensure the most productive and effective communication between our scientists, primarily at the interdepartmental level, and initiate many other innovative educational and scientific projects.”
Danuta Zawadzka remarked that the document serves as an impetus for close collaboration between both universities in terms of joint research programs, publication creation and mutual participation in conferences and scientific seminars. Additionally, Professor Krzysztof Wasilewski, Vice-Rector of Koszalin University, highlighted that this agreement seals off the preceding stage of beneficial negotiations between both universities, following a road map of bilateral initiatives and grant program applications.
Professor Serhiy Riznyk and the head of the Center for English-speaking Academic and Cross-Cultural Communication, Associate Professor Iryna Odrekhivska are the co-coordinators of this project at the Lviv University. They have assembled a team of scientific and pedagogical professionals from several faculties and divisions of the University to implement their plans.
