EU to provide Ukraine with 2,400 additional generators, says Ursula von der Leyen
The EU will provide Ukraine with 2,400 additional generators and 35 million LED light lamps, European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen said.
“We are sending equipment to support the functioning of the Ukrainian power grid to supply electricity despite all the attacks. This is practical assistance. And today I can announce that we are providing 2,400 additional generators on the top of 3,000 supplied since the beginning of the war,” Ursula von der Leyen said during a joint statement for the media with President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy in Kyiv.
She also said that the EU would provide 35 million LED lamps instead of 30 million, as was announced earlier.
The EC President also stated that the Energy Community would allocate more than €150 million to purchase critical energy equipment for Ukraine.
