On Saturday, the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine adopted a resolution on implementing European Union regulations on the classification of certain goods into Ukrainian legislation.
This was reported by the press service of the Ministry of Finance, according to Yevropeiska Pravda.
The adopted resolution amends the procedure for maintaining the Ukrainian Classification of Goods for Foreign Economic Activity (UCGFEA) to take into account the approaches of the EU Combined Nomenclature.
“This will facilitate the uniform application of the rules for the classification of goods by all customs authorities when making decisions on the classification of goods under the UCGFEA and decisions on binding information on the classification of goods,” the Ministry of Finance said.
The document also instructs the State Customs Service to publish the current decisions on the classification of goods provided for in the relevant EU legislation, to check the conformity of the new classification codes with the UCGFEA and to “finalise the relevant software”.
The classification of goods is used, among other things, to facilitate trade. At the end of May, the Council of the European Union adopted a regulation extending the suspension of all duties, quotas and trade remedies on Ukrainian exports to the EU for another year, until June 2024.
