New EU Erasmus+ projects for capacity building in higher education

21/08/2023

The European Union’s Erasmus+ Programme has selected 20 capacity-building projects in higher education to receive EU funding.

These projects aim to modernise educational programmes in energy efficiency, legal education, political science, foreign languages, education for peace, education for the development of environmental and digital literacy, etc.

Based on the level of impact and experience of the partners, the projects are grouped into three areas: facilitating access to cooperation (5), partnerships for transformation (12) and structural reforms (3). The project teams include a total of 136 partners from 27 countries.

The 107 full partners and 16 associate partners from Ukraine represent 58 higher education institutions, three institutions of the National Academy of Pedagogical Sciences of Ukraine, many central authorities, state administrations, city councils, professional associations and NGOs. Six Ukrainian universities are beneficiaries and project coordinators: Kyiv Taras Shevchenko National University, Lviv Ivan Franko National University, Lviv National Polytechnic University, Prydniprovska State Academy of Civil Engineering and Architecture, Ternopil Volodymyr Hnatiuk National Pedagogical University and the Ukrainian Catholic University.

The European Commission has also supported a unique structural project to help create a digital ecosystem in Ukrainian universities. The international partnership of the DigiUni Project will create an open university platform to support quality education for students in Ukraine and abroad and attract international students with a grant of €5 million.
