The EU-funded Pravo-Justice project has released a manual on case law of the Court of Justice of the EU on the rule of law and its significance for Ukraine.
This Manual is vital in preparing for enlargement negotiations on Chapter 23, Rule of Law and Fundamental Rights and Freedoms. It contains a summary of the most significant judgments of the Court of Justice in the rule of law cases and aims to help the judiciary to better prepare for bilateral meetings.
Clemens Mueller, Rule of Law Expert at the European Commission and the EU Delegation to Ukraine, said that the Court of Justice plays a unique role in the EU legal system.
“The case law of the Court of Justice is an important reference point not only for Member States, but also for third countries seeking to join the European Union. To properly participate in bilateral meetings and negotiations, it is essential to understand the core principles and ideas in the Court’s case law, particularly on the rule of law,” he said.
The EU-funded project Pravo-Justice promotes greater rule of law in Ukraine, in line with European standards and comparative practices.
