“300 micro and small enterprises received the first tranche of financial aid under the “EU4Business: SME Competitiveness and Internationalisation” programme co-funded by the European Union and the Government of Germany with support of the Economy Ministry and Ministry of Digital Transformation of Ukraine. The total funding in the form of grants is UAH 150,000,” reported the ministry.
Businesses from 9 regions of Ukraine, registered in Kharkiv, Kyiv, Sumy, Donetsk, Chernihiv, Mykolaiv, Luhansk, Zaporizhzhia and Kherson oblasts, received micro grants.
The grant recipients are mostly micro and small businesses that provide catering services, produce bread, bread and cereal products, involved in medical practice, veterinary practice, and production of clothes, paper, and meat products.
The applications for the grants were accepted through the Diia portal from May 30 until June 30, 2022. A commission of independent business experts selected the winners from 1,357 applicants based on their applications and the results of interviews with selected companies. The priority was given to micro and small businesses from the territories most affected by the war with the purpose of rebuilding or supporting production, providing services to preserve economic potential of Ukraine and supplying critical goods and services to Ukrainians.
As it was earlier reported, micro grants to support Ukrainian businesses are available under the “EU4Business: SME Competitiveness and Internationalisation” international assistance programme co-funded by the European Union and the Government of Germany and implemented by the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH together with the Ministry of Digital Transformation of Ukraine, Economy Ministry of Ukraine, Diia, the Ukrainian portal of government online services, the “Office for Development of Business and Export”, a Ukrainian government institution, and Diia.Business, the Ukrainian national business and export development project.
