EU project
MediaFit Programme for building Information Integrity in South & East Ukraine
Project Description
Building on the extensive media development experience of DW Akademie in Ukraine, this project is based on joint planning with the project partners Canal France International (CFI) and the Lithuanian Radio and Television (LRT).
To enhance information integrity in Ukraine and the resilience of Ukraine’s media, this Action strengthens the editorial independence, digital capacities and audience engagement of the target independent and public media. To identify and dismantle disinformation, the Action will strengthen the fact-checking capacity of the target media and connect them with regional fact-checking initiatives and support the production of pilot educational content by DOM TV to respond to the needs of the conflict-affected regions. By directly supporting the regional independent media actors and DOM TV, the Action ensures that the population in the target regions have better access to relevant and reliable information, an essential prerequisite for restoring trust in regional media, reducing disinformation, and strengthening an inclusive peace-building process.
