Supporting war trauma rehabilitation in Ukraine

Project Description
The project objective is to improve the rehabilitation of war trauma in Ukraine for wounded civilians and veterans affected by the russian aggression. The main goal of the project will be achieved through the:
- improving rehabilitation process documentation in the eHealth system of Ukraine by supporting the development of the ICF-based rehabilitation module
- developing the legal background for synchronization of rehabilitation services and social services within the integrated patient path of the medical-social expertise system
- capacity strengthening of the multidisciplinary rehabilitation teams in the target healthcare facilities (HCFs) through the intensive war trauma rehabilitation pieces of training
- conducting an information campaign on evidence-based rehabilitation and the philosophy of the biopsychosocial approach of the International Classification of Functionality (ICF).
Specific Objective
The overall objective is to contribute to improving the rehabilitation system in Ukraine for wounded civilians and veterans in Ukraine affected by the russian aggression.
Specific objective 1. Physical rehabilitation services governance in Ukraine is strengthened via improving rehabilitation process documentation in the eHealth system and synchronization of rehabilitation services and social services within the integrated patient path of the medical-social expertise system.
Specific objective 2. Rehabilitation services provision for wounded civilians and veterans in Ukraine affected by the russian aggression is improved via capacity strengthening of the multidisciplinary rehabilitation teams in the target HCFs through the intensive war trauma rehabilitation pieces of training.
Specific objective 3. Awareness among targeted groups on evidence-based rehabilitation and the philosophy of the biopsychosocial approach of the International Classification of Functionality to rehabilitation services is increased by conducting an informational-advocacy campaign and forming sustainable knowledge about the rehabilitation reform in Ukraine.
Expected Results
Rehabilitation services provision for civilians and veterans affected by the military conflict improved through harmonization of governance and legislation, training of professionals and management of healthcare facilities, and raising public awareness of evidence-based active rehabilitation and modern approaches to rehabilitation services provision.
