The NIP Ukraine Water Modernisation Programme is financing modernisation and energy efficiency improvements of water and wastewater facilities in Ukrainian municipalities, aiming to improve the water supply processes and wastewater treatment in the participating cities.

The specific objectives of the programme are to implement investment projects in up to ten Ukrainian cities. In each of the cities water safety plans and strategic investment plans are to be developed.

The programme is expected to result in:
• improved water and wastewater services for approximately 700,000 people
• annual energy savings of up to 10.7 GWh
