Fact-checking and anti-fake news: two-day training held in Lutsk, next in Cherkasy and Kyiv
14/04/2025
🔍 “Fakes Hunters”, “Fakes Breakers”, “Fact Crunchers”, “Anti-Fake” and “Antidote to Fakes” – these were the creative names that were generated by participants for their teamwork in the two-day capacity-building event “Debunking Disinformation on the European Union and the EU’s support to Ukraine: Fact-checking Workshop”. Lutsk hosted the event at the end of March. The event was organised within the EU-UA Disinformation Awareness and Resilience [DARE] Project, funded by the Delegation of the European Union to Ukraine.
😎 During two days 30 regional journalists, educators, and activists advanced their knowledge of countering Russian disinformation and improved their skills by creating joint ideas for thematic projects.
💬 “I already have experience in participating in workshops from the EU Delegation to Ukraine, and they were always top-level events with good speakers. This event also totally met my expectations. The speakers of the first day presented the information very clearly and in an easy-to-understand manner. Similarly, the second practical part was very interactive and well-designed.” — Iryna Vorotna, the editor-in-chief at Rayon.in.ua (Lutsk).
📅 Two more workshops are planned in Cherkasy and Kyiv later this year.
