The OSCE Support Programme for Ukraine, with financial support from the European Union, and in cooperation with the Ministry of Economy of Ukraine, hosted the Gender Awareness in Mine Action Workshop in Kyiv.
The workshop brought together officials from government agencies, non-governmental actors and international organisations.
Participants reviewed existing gaps in the needs of women and men in humanitarian mine action and discussed how gender inclusiveness can ensure higher safety standards for professionals and more efficient land clearance.
The insights from the Workshop will be used to develop practical recommendations for government institutions and mine action operators on integrating gender inclusiveness into their work.
