Russian war will not stop Ukrainian culture

About the project

No war can stop work of a life. Even under constant mortal threat, people with passion for their own ideas never stop working on their embodiment. This documentary is dedicated to them.Itwas kicked off in 2021 as part of Sertsevyna media project. Documentarians from Lviv and Krakow wanted to show to how, since 2014, masterpieces of winemaking are created, crops are grown, and people devoted to their work and their land continue to live under Russian shelling. With the beginning of the full-scale invasion, the context changed so much that the authors of the idea decided to completely reshoot the film. Already at the end of the post-production stage, the project team received financial support from the European Union. Owing to this, it was possible to organise the joint work of both Ukrainian and Polish stakeholders at the studio in Krakow, write subtitles in Ukrainian and English, prepare format alternatives to be able to make the documentary available on various platforms (including at film festivals), as well as present the film in Krakow.

Moreover, the Wounded Land’s creative team has already managed to implement part of their plan by hosting presentations of their documentary in the capital and major cities of Ukraine. The presentation in Kyiv was accompanied by a wave of positive feedback in the mass media and social platforms, and the presentation in Lviv had to be postponed twice due to air raid alerts. After Ukraine, Wounded Land is planned to be shown across the EU countries. In addition, the team is already working on continuing their film project.
