EU-supported reconstruction of the regional hospital’s therapeutic building has begun in Poltava.
According to Recovery Window Media Network, the premises of the therapeutic building will be redesigned in accordance with modern standards. The premises should become energy efficient and provide barrier-free access.
Elevators, windows, doors, flooring, heating, ventilation, water supply, drainage, lighting, fire safety and information technology systems will be replaced. It is planned to install bathrooms, repair the staircase, and insulate and decorate the facade.
The works are being carried out under the Ukraine Recovery Programme with funds from the European Investment Bank and co-financing from the regional budget.
More than 100 cities and communities in Ukraine will have municipal infrastructure rebuilt under two EIB recovery programmes – the Ukraine Recovery Programme (URP) and the Ukraine Early Early Recovery Programme (UERP) – after the Ukrainian government allocated €161 million to local budgets, paving the way for Ukrainian cities to proceed with restoration efforts.
These initiatives, planned to be carried out in 2024-2025, aim to restore social infrastructure such as hospitals, housing, schools, water and waste facilities in liberated territories and areas close to the conflict zone.
As of March 2024, the UERP had successfully completed 97 projects, which include educational facilities, healthcare centres, and units of social housing, with an additional 66 projects planned for implementation in 2024-2025. The URP in March marked the commencement of its first project through the construction of an educational facility in Vinnytsia oblast, representing a pivotal move towards initiating 155 more social infrastructure projects over the course of 2024-2025.
